Providence Health & Services RN - Wound, Ostomy and Continence in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Wound Care (0.9 FTE, Days) to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR. This position will work 3x12hr day shifts per week.
Must have a minimum of 5yrs experience and a completion of an accredited course in Wound/Ostomy Nursing. Experience with Wound Vac Machine / NPWT machine.
In this position, you will:
Be a professional practitioner who functions in a highly autonomous manner within a flexible hospital-wide practice realm.
Apply knowledge drawn from a broad in-depth education in the social and physical sciences in assessing, planning, ordering, providing, delegating, teaching, and supervising nursing care of patients undergoing radical bowel and bladder surgical procedures to promote the patient’s return to a condition of optimal health and independence.
Be responsible for developing the evidence-based expertise of the nursing staff in acute direct-care situations as well as in assessing the educational needs of ostomy patients and their families and the nursing staff caring for them.
Function as an educator and consultant for community outreach programs directed to the care of persons with ostomies and wounds.
Have a scope of practice that includes inpatient and outpatient management of continence, ostomy care and wounds. Authority and responsibility for these programs extends during Monday - Friday, regular work hours.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
5 years of nursing experience with knowledge of and exposure to ostomy care
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Completion of an accredited course in Wound/Ostomy nursing
Certification as a Wound/Ostomy RN
