Providence Health & Services RN - Surgical Unit in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (0.9 FTE, Nights) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
This is a 40 unit where we care for pre-operative and post operative patients, including patients who may have surgical complications and we also receive Medical overflow. We specializes in providing care to patients after general, abdominal, thoracic, oncologic, laparopscopic, thyroid, ophthalmic, or ENT surgery.
We are seeking a BSN RN who has a minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical RN experience who can work 12 hour, night shifts, and Every Other weekend. We are seeking someone who will be ready to start in April!

In this position, you will:
Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment.
Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.
Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire
All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of abachelor’s degree in nursing must obtain a bachelor’s degree in Nursingor higher within 3 years of hire.
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not berequired to obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing
Unencumbered RN license in Oregon (OSBN)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from thefollowing:
American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLSProvider),
American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health CareProvider), or
Military Training Network (MTN) – (HealthcareProvider) upon hire.
12 months of acute care experience working with thepatient population similar to a Medical/Surgical Unit -or- completion ofthe specialty residency located at Providence St Vincent Medical Center
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
RNs with Bachelor's degree in nursing will be givenPriority
National Certification in Medical Surgical (CMSRN)
Three (3) years of Medical Surgical RN experience
